WELCOME TO THE
Talbott Tavern
Stay, dine and be entertained! Since the late 1700s, the Old Talbott Tavern, located in historic Bardstown on Court Square has provided shelter, food and drink to Kentucky travelers.
When visitors walk into the Old Talbott Tavern, there’s a feeling about the place.
It’s well kept, but the passage of time is evident in a few creaking floorboards. There’s an air about the place that speaks of people who have come and gone, spending time in the pub and retiring to their rooms before an early morning departure.
Travelers used to arrive on horseback or in buggies; today they come in automobiles. Tourists and locals mingle and lives intertwine in the “ordinary,” a place to rest and receive nourishment before traveling on to their final destination.
The Talbott Tavern is a wonderful place to dine, stay and be entertained!
RAVE REVIEWS
This historical tavern offers some very good meals. The Hot Brown and the Ribeye Pork were both outstanding choices. Both dinners reported that these options were not only tasty but worth a future visit to enjoy these entrees again. For the history buff, this tavern will put you in good company going back to the late 1700’s. Names of visitors include Jackson, Lincoln and James to name a few. The bread pudding was excellent and is a great choice. Enjoy a bourbon with dinner as this tavern is famous for being in the heart of bourbon country and the selections are awesome.
This is a great place to stay! We stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms at the Inn which is right beside the Talbot Tavern and original Inn. The girls working were so sweet and helpful! Everything was clean and quaint! The house keeping ladies were the sweetest! We had the included breakfast and I am a vegetarian so they found me some good toast and fruit on request! This place is filled with so much history and it’s a must see! Totally recommend this place and we will definitely be back again!!
Loved everything from the hotel, food, & service! Amazing experience. Would love to come back! Fried green tomatoes were the bomb! Everyone was very friendly! Great atmosphere.
We stayed here for our 15th wedding anniversary-it’s clean, cozy and close to everything downtown! And the history…oh my!
Fine accommodations in a historic 18th century tavern. Restaurant serves excellent Southern food. Bourbon bar has at least 100 bourbons.
